OTHER CERAMIC   GIFTS 

I use 3 different clays to create my works along with slips and glazes. Due to the nature of the clays I will often have to fire the different colours separately as they require different temperatures. This means I often make my work in small batches across my different ranges.

Pieces are fired once (bisque) and often undergo a further second firing for glazes (colours) to be applied. Again different clays have to be fired separately.

​

I welcome commissions but these often take longer to create.

I only fire my kiln when it is full to reduce costs and work sustainably. Therefore, if you wish to order a custom or personalised gift for Christmas or someone's birthday please do so a minimum of 4 weeks in advance.

I've made some decorative designs including ceramic enclosed tealight holders, some of which also function as scented wax pellet burners (pellets not included), garden stakes (back is plain so you can write on them with permanent markers) and other items.

It takes a lot of admin work to update the shop and since I often do a handful of craft fairs each year, I prefer to spend my time making first, then updating the shop later when I have more time.

I also welcome the challenge of commissions, especially of people's pets. It takes a minimum of 4 weeks to make and fire something so if you commission something please bare this is mind - this is to give me enough time to fully dry the piece before firing to reduce chances of it exploding in the kiln (when water turns to steam) and also because I only fire my kiln when full (both to save costs & for sustainability reasons).
