SHIPPING POLICY

Local Collection

I encourage collection of items from my studio in Welton, Lincoln where possible to avoid costly postage and packaging costs. Ceramic items can weigh quite a bit and packaging these to avoid damage by postal companies can increase postage charges considerably.

Shipping/Delivery costs

All shipping prices are non-negotiable and will be obtained for each individual item based upon size, weight, and packaging. These can vary with pieces of the same design in the same series due to the hand-made nature of items.

Packaging

I aim to re-use packaging wherever possible to avoid wastage and I encourage further use of the packaging afterwards by the customer. If customers wish to return still-useful packaging for me to reuse for any future items I will gladly accept this.

We all have to do our bit for the environment and unnecessary recycling of useful already made packaging requires a lot of time and energy.

Recorded/tracked delivery

If you wish for an item to be sent by recorded delivery then please email me quoting the specific item and web page address and I may be able to get a quote. Otherwise, items will be sent by 1st or 2nd class post or an equivalent service.

Galleries

I may decide in the future to rely solely on using local galleries to sell items on behalf to avoid posting items. A list of any galleries used will be shown on this website.

RETURNS POLICY

Quality Control

I endeavour to check all items for defects at every stage of production, before placing items for sale, and again before posting. Photographs of all items will be taken at my end before posting and multiple angled shots will be shown on the website for each item where possible.

Delivery/Collection

I aim to package items (where delivery is offered) well to avoid delivery damage where possible. If you believe an item has been damaged by postal services please contact me as I may need to review the provider used.

Unfortunately a lot of delivery companies do not insure against damage to ceramic or glass made objects and the customer must accept this before placing an order. I therefore encourage local collection or purchasing from galleries wherever possible.

Refunds/Returns

Refunds and returns will not be accepted for any items unless they have serious defects.

Serious defects include damage to pieces that affect the structural integrity i.e. full cracks through both sides of a piece or noticeable chips. As aforementioned items are checked several times before a sale so I do not expect for there to be any serious defects.

If I spot any defects after an order is placed I may email you to see if you are still interested in the piece. If you accept this then no refunds will be granted under these terms after goods have been received.

Fine hairline cracks that do not pass fully through both sides of a piece will not be considered a defect. Ceramic items are normally fired between 1 and 2 times and sometimes even though items are always treated with care some small single sided cracks may occur. That said, I aim for this not to be the case as I want people to be happy with the items.

Since items are handmade, there may be marks or unevenness in surfaces which are not to be considered defects.

There may also be colour discrepancies between different computer monitors and refunds will not be given for such cases.

If a customer disagrees with any of the above they should not place an order.

PAYMENT METHODS

I accept payments of cash on local collection of items.

I accept paypal payments but additional charges will apply.

I do not accept cheques, postal orders.

I do not currently accept Debit or Credit cards but this may change in the near future.

WHOLESALE INQUIRIES

I do not offer wholesale orders as I am a small maker and do not aim to make items in bulk
