FAQs

  • Can I pay by cash in person & collect the item(s)
In order to pay by cash & pick item(s) up: I can accept payment by cash (correct amount) and collection of the item - please email me and I will inform you where to pay and pick up the item(s) from. This will either be my studio or home dependent upon where the item(s) are stored. Please do not turn up without prior arrangement as I work full-time.
  • Where can I buy your hand crafted items?
I attend a handful of craft fairs each year - please see the fairs section: I have also recently set up an online shop hosted by sum-up and will be adding to this over the coming days and weeks: If you see something you like but it is not in stock, please email me at: artisdan84@gmail.com It normally takes a minimum of 4 weeks to make a custom or out of stock order to be able to fill my kiln enough to get the price per item down.
  • Are all item(s) displayed on the website in stock?
Not all items are in stock. If out of stock, jewellery may take 2-4 weeks to make and fire a piece as I have to fill the kiln with enough work before I fire it to get the cost down per piece. I tend to only produce 1 design in a pendant or set of earrings at a time. Other items, especially clay may take longer to make due to drying times, and separate firings required in order to glaze pieces. I suggest you email me well in advance of special occasions if wanting to commission items for special events such as birthdays or Christmas.
  • Do you sell products elsewhere?
Etsy Some items may also be for sale in my Etsy shop, although this will be at higher cost due to more expensive fees. ebay Some items may also be for sale in my ebay shop, although this will be at higher cost (even than etsy) due to more expensive fees. Zettle I mainly aim to sell items by sending payment links through Zettle. This is run by Paypal and all major cards are accepted. For more information see this link. This is far cheaper than ebay & etsy. I can email photos of products before sending them. If you are interested in buying something based on the photos online please email me. Cash on Collection I also accept cash if you are local and want to pay upon collection of an item. Not only does this save on cost of postage but since postal companies do not insure glass or ceramics, this means less packaging will be used and it is a more sustainable way of buying from me which i fully encourage.
  • What metals do you uses in jewellery?
Pendants are supplied ready to wear with a silver plated fittings & a silver plated 18" 1.2mm cable chain necklace in a cream coloured gift box. 1.2mm chain fits easily through pendant's bails so it's possible to fit the pendants to a slightly thicker necklace that you may already own but I don't supply them to keep costs to a minimum. Dangly Earrings are supplied with silver plated fish hook fittings. Sometimes I also use gold-plated fish hook fittings, although this isn't standard. Studs are supplied with hypoallergenic stainless steel butterfly fittings. (Hypoallergenic jewellery means that there is minimal risk of causing an allergic reaction as some people can be allergic to silver and gold). ***I am willing to obtain gold or sterling silver fixings if you have allergies but only for guaranteed orders - this helps keep my costs down*** I also use precious metals such as 98% (greater than GB sterling silver) silver motifs to add extra sparkle and interest to pieces. Some of my designs are also 2 sided i.e. may show a different colour on the front to that on the reverse by using special glass coated in precious metals.
  • I have another question
    Please email me at artisdan84@gmail.com
  • Do you post internationally?
Due to Brexit complications I do not aim to post items abroad but if you email me where you live I can try and obtain a quote. I suggest this is done well in advance of Christmas and people's birthdays if an item is being bought as a gift.
  • Can I collect an item rather than pay postage?
Yes, if anything I encourage local collection as packaging and arranging delivery takes time out from making items. Please email me at least 1 day in advance with a date and time and I will inform you of my studio address or home address depending upon where I have stored the item(s). My home address is located in Cherry Willingham, Lincoln. The studio is located in Welton, Lincoln and is not normally open to members of the public due to limited access and I don't reside there. Please do not block the lane with vehicles, there is normally parking space on the main road running through the village. I would try and avoid 3:15 - 3:30pm on weekdays at either address (due to school pick up times) when possible.
  • How do I order a customised piece?
Send an email to artisdan84@gmail.com. If it is for a pet sculpture please include dimensions you want the item making to (I'm limited to approx 40cm tall and 30cm wide) and photos from multiple angles and any specific text or details required. I aim to reply in 7 days by email (depending upon workload and I have a full-time job). My phone signal at my home and studio is limited. I may not be able to fulfill all requests. Different shapes, sizes, and colours are possible. If jewellery, please include shape of jewellery, type e.g. pendant or earrings, approximate dimensions, if you want a specific silver motif (image trapped within glass), colour of glass or ceramics etc. Costs will depend upon the materials (glass, silver etc) and time taken to make the item. ***I use silver-plated fixings (for dangly earrings and pendants) and stainless steel studs and butterfly fixings as standard (for studs). I am willing to obtain gold and sterling silver fixings for guaranteed orders for those with allergies. I can also supply bigger backed plastic fixings for those with limited dexterity for studs - just email me.***
  • Do any galleries stock your items?
I am not currently displaying my wares in galleries due to high commission rates. I occasionally take part in craft fairs and will publicise this via facebook or instagram. Alternatively see the 'Fairs' section on my website.
  • I am a gallery and am interested in stocking your work how do I contact you?
Please email me with a list of any items you are interested in, quantity of items required, your terms and conditions, and rate of commission. NB I am unlikely to accept a rate of commission above 20% as I have a very small profit margin and want to try and keep items affordable, especially in the current economic market.
